Zen and the Art of Chaos Theory
In the dance of strange attractors,
And fractals’ endless play,
The sage finds deep enlightenment,
In chaos theory’s way.
Butterfly wings in Beijing,
Stir storms in New York’s sky,
As cause and effect entwine,
In patterns that defy.
The koan of initial conditions,
Where small changes bloom,
Into cascades of consequence,
That echo through time’s room.
Meditate on Lorenz’s curves,
Where order hides in mess,
For in the heart of turbulence,
Lies stillness nonetheless.
The Mandelbrot set’s beauty,
Infinite in scope,
Reflects the mind’s vast landscape,
Where consciousness can grope.
In feedback loops and iterations,
Where outcomes can’t be known,
The Buddha smiles serenely,
At seeds of chaos sown.
Zen masters and mathematicians,
Both seek patterns in the void,
Finding in complexity’s depths,
Truth’s essence unalloyed.
