We Make Ourselves

We make ourselves, our essence born,
Not something fixed, but shaped and formed,
Our will, our choices, every day,
Mold who we are, in every way.

Not bound by fate, or blood, or name,
We chart our course, we stake our claim,
The past may cast a shadow long,
But we decide where we belong.

The dreams we dream, the goals we chase,
The paths we take, the risks we face,
All shape the person we become,
Our essence bright, or dark and glum.

So let us choose with care and thought,
The traits we want, the battles fought,
For we alone can shape our fate,
And build a life that’s truly great.

We make ourselves, our essence true,
A mirror of the deeds we do,
So let us strive for what we seek,
And build a life that’s rich and unique.
