We Carry Hatred Like a Bible
We carry hatred like a Bible, heavy and profound,
Its weight upon our weary souls, tightly wound.
Bound by grudges and resentment, page upon page,
Inscribed with ink of anger, etched in our inner cage.
Each verse a reminder of past wounds, deep and raw,
Feeding the flames of bitterness, with no flaw.
We clutch it close to our hearts, unwilling to let go,
Nurturing the poison that continues to grow.
Its chapters filled with stories of betrayal and pain,
Fueling the fires of hatred, driving us insane.
We recite verses of vengeance, seeking retribution,
Blinded by anger, consumed by this toxic institution.
But in our quest for justice, we lose sight of grace,
Forgetting the power of forgiveness, a saving embrace.
Inscribed within those pages, a lesson left unlearned,
That love can conquer hatred, and peace can be returned.
Let us release this burden, this weight we’ve carried long,
Unshackle ourselves from the chains that make us strong.
Embrace the healing balm of empathy and compassion,
And watch hatred crumble, replaced by love’s sweet fashion.
For in our hearts, a sanctuary can be found,
Where forgiveness blossoms on forgiving ground.
Let us tear those pages, write a new story instead,
Where kindness and understanding are the words, we spread.
Release the weight we carry, like a Bible held so dear,
And find solace in the freedom, with every doubt cleared.
For the power of love, a beacon shining bright,
Can overcome the darkness, bringing back the light.
So let us lay down the Bible of hatred and scorn,
And in its place, a new scripture was born.
A scripture of unity, acceptance, and grace,
Where hatred has no home, and love finds its rightful place.
