Velvet Twilight

--

Soft as a whisper, day slips away,
As velvet twilight comes to play.
The sky, a canvas of fading light,
Paints the world in hues of night.

Lavender shadows gently creep,
As sun-kissed clouds drift off to sleep.
The horizon blurs in misty haze,
Bidding farewell to golden days.

Stars peek out, shy and bright,
Pinpricks in the fabric of night.
The moon, a pearl in darkening skies,
Slowly, gracefully starts to rise.

Flowers fold their petals tight,
Nodding off in fading light.
While nightingales begin their song,
A melody that carries long.

Streetlamps flicker into life,
Casting pools of gentle light.
Shadows dance in twilight’s glow,
As evening breezes softly blow.

The city hums a lullaby,
As day’s last echoes softly die.
Traffic slows, voices hush,
In twilight’s tranquil evening rush.

Lovers stroll in parks serene,
Their silhouettes in twilight seen.
Whispered words and tender sighs,
Blend with twilight’s lullabies.

Bats swoop in graceful flight,
Heralding the coming night.
Owls awaken with silent wings,
As twilight’s curtain slowly swings.

The air grows cool, dew appears,
Glistening like twilight tears.
Earth exhales a contented sigh,
As velvet darkness fills the sky.

In this pause ‘tween day and night,
We find a moment of respite.
A time to ponder, dream, and be,
In twilight’s soft serenity.

So let us linger in this space,
Where time slows down its frantic pace.
For in this velvet twilight hour,
We feel life’s beauty, peace, and power.
