The Triumph of Evil
Silence hangs heavy in the air,
As good men stand and merely stare,
While evil casts its dark embrace,
Corrupting every sacred place.
The only thing that’s truly required,
For wickedness to be inspired,
Is for the righteous to sit idle,
Allowing wrong to run its cycle.
Apathy becomes the fertile ground,
Where injustice takes its root, profound.
Turning a blind eye, we let it breed,
Nurturing malice with every seed.
The triumph of evil, a bitter pill,
Comes not from malice or ill will,
But from the good who fail to act,
Allowing atrocities as fact.
Yet, in the depths of darkest night,
A single candle’s flickering light
Can pierce the veil of despair’s shroud,
Inspiring the meek to stand up proud.
For every voice that dares to speak,
A thousand more will join the peak,
Rising like a tidal wave,
To wash away the evil crave.
The only thing that can prevail,
Against the wrongs that seldom fail,
Is for the good to raise their voice,
And in their actions, make the choice.
To stand united, strong, and brave,
Refusing evil’s shallow grave.
For in our silence, we comply,
But in our struggle, justice won’t die.
