The Thing That Does Nothing (Yet Everything’s Done!)

A river does not push or shove,
Yet carves the land and shapes above.
A tree won’t rush, it simply grows,
No need to sprint — the Tao just flows!

The fish don’t plan, they dart and glide,
The clouds don’t fret, they drift and slide.
The wind won’t strain, yet bends the trees,
The grass won’t toil, yet sways with ease.

The more you force, the less you gain,
Like holding tight to falling rain.
But let things be, and you may find,
The world aligns — both kind and blind.

So hush, sit still, breathe in, breathe out,
No need to fear, no need to doubt.
By doing less, the most gets done —
Relax, let go — the Tao has won!
