The Giraffe’s Fashion Statement

Darling, said the giraffe
adjusting its quantum bowtie
while neck-deep in existential sequins
FASHION IS A STATE OF MIND

[somewhere, a butterfly tries on hurricanes
for size: they’re so last season]

strutting down the catwalk of
impossible geometry
our long-necked fashionista sports:
- three metric tons of stardust
- a vest made of forgotten jazz solos
- philosophical ankle socks
- seventeen shades of tomorrow
- and a hat that questions reality

*pauses to pose*
*gravity takes notes*

“sweetie, you simply MUST tell me
where you got that consciousness-bending scarf!”
asks the zebra wearing
parallel universes as pinstripes

but our giraffe just winks
while juggling:
- monday mornings
- abstract concepts
- DNA helixes
- and your aunt’s secret recipe

∆∆∆

the runway melts into fractals
as hooves click-clack through
dimensions previously reserved
for theoretical physics

[the audience, composed entirely of
mathematical equations dressed as birds,
applauds in irrational numbers]

“darling, is that spot pattern vintage?”
“no, dear, it’s postmodern chaos theory”

∆∆∆

wearing sunrise as eyeshadow
and moonbeams as mascara
our spotted supermodel demonstrates
how to accessorize with:
- temporal anomalies
- quantum entangled earrings
- metaphysical belt loops
- and a handbag containing
the collected works of
shakespeare’s ghost writer’s
cat’s previous lives

*twirls*
*reality hiccups*

∆∆∆

“but what makes it fashion?”
whispers the confused penguin
in last season’s dialectics

“dahling,” replies the giraffe
adjusting its collar of
spontaneous combusting butterflies
“fashion is wearing the universe
inside out while pretending
it’s perfectly normal”

[meanwhile, the clouds try on
the giraffe’s old spots
but they clash with entropy]

∆∆∆

finale:
our giraffe serves
transcendental realness
strutting through dimensions
twelve through seventeen
wearing nothing but
the concept of tuesday
and a smile made of
quantum possibilities

*mic drop*
*universe applauds*
*space-time wrinkles in appreciation*

[somewhere, a black hole
adds this to its mood board]
