The Cry of the Earth

--

Amidst the chaos of our modern world,
A silent cry, a plea unfurled,
From the depths of the forest, the ocean’s blue,
The Earth, our home, calls out to me and you.

For too long, we’ve turned a blind eye,
To the wounds we’ve inflicted, the damage we’ve done, oh my!
The carbon we’ve spewed, the forests we’ve razed,
The species we’ve lost, in our consumptive craze.

The glaciers melt, the sea levels rise,
The storms grow fiercer, before our eyes,
The droughts, the floods, the wildfires rage,
A testament to our destructive age.

The polar bears, on shrinking ice,
The coral reefs, a paradise lost in a trice,
The birds, the bees, the butterflies,
Their numbers dwindling, as our planet cries.

And in the cities, where the smog hangs thick,
The children gasp, their lungs so sick,
The toxic waste, the plastic tide,
The environmental injustice, we cannot hide.

But amidst the darkness, a light still shines,
A hope that springs, from deep within our minds,
A call to action, a call to change,
To heal our Earth, and our ways rearrange.

Let us embrace, the power of the sun,
The wind, the waves, a new age begun,
A future powered, by renewable might,
A world where energy, is clean and bright.

Let us plant, a billion trees,
And watch them grow, with every breeze,
Absorbing carbon, from the sky above,
A symbol of our commitment, our love.

Let us protect, the wild and free,
The habitats, the biodiversity,
The rainforests, the wetlands, the ocean’s bounty,
Preserving life’s rich tapestry, for all to see.

Let us reduce, reuse, recycle,
And break the chains, of our consumption cycle,
Choosing products, that are kind and fair,
To the Earth, and to those, in despair.

Let us fight, for environmental justice,
For the poor, the marginalized, the most vulnerable among us,
Ensuring that the burdens, and the benefits too,
Are shared equitably, by me and you.

For we are all, in this together,
Our fates entwined, like birds of a feather,
The choices we make, the actions we take,
Will determine, the future we create.

So let us heed, the Earth’s plaintive call,
And rise to the challenge, standing tall,
Let us be the change, we wish to see,
And build a world, in harmony.

A world where nature, and humankind,
Coexist in balance, our futures aligned,
Where the air is clean, the water pure,
And the beauty of our Earth, forever endures.

For the cry of the Earth, is a cry for life,
A plea for healing, amidst the strife,
And it falls to us, to answer the call,
To protect our planet, once and for all.

So let us plant the seeds, of a brighter tomorrow,
And nurture them, with love and sorrow,
Let us be the guardians, the Earth so needs,
And write a new story, with our words and deeds.

For the future is ours, to shape and mold,
A canvas waiting, for a tale to be told,
Let it be a story, of hope and resilience,
Of a world renewed, by our love and brilliance.

And let us teach our children, to love and defend,
This precious Earth, that we all depend,
To be the stewards, the caretakers true,
Of the only home, we have, to renew.

So let us heed, the Earth’s vital signs,
And change our ways, while there’s still time,
Let us be bold, let us be brave,
And the future of our planet, together we’ll save.

For in the end, it’s not about you or me,
But the legacy we leave, for all to see,
A world of wonder, a world of grace,
Where every creature, has a rightful place.

So let us rise, let us unite,
For the Earth, we’ll stand and fight,
With every breath, with every deed,
Together, we’ll plant tomorrow’s seed.
