Spirit of the Ancestors (Guey’ba Bohíque)

Verse 1:
In the concrete jungle, I hear the coquí’s call
Ancient whispers guide me through the urban sprawl
Taíno blood flows strong, though centuries have passed
Our spirit’s flame burns bright, a legacy to last

Chorus:
Guey’ba Bohíque, ancestors speak through me
Mindful of each step, our connection sets us free
From the mountains to the sea, their wisdom still remains
In every breath we take, their energy sustains

Verse 2:
Meditation brings me to the batey’s sacred ground
Where past and present merge, and lost truths are found
I channel Yocahú’s power with each rising sun
Finding strength in unity, for we are all as one

(Chorus)

Bridge:
Transform your mind, body, and soul
Let the healing energies take control
Like the ceiba tree, we’re rooted deep
Yet reaching high, our promises to keep

Verse 3:
From Borikén to Quisqueya, our spirits soar
Connecting with the divine, we ask for nothing more
Than to honor our ancestors with every choice we make
A new path forward, for our children’s sake

(Chorus)

Outro:
Guey’ba Bohíque, hear our modern prayer
In city streets or forests, we feel you everywhere
The journey of transformation has just begun
Taíno spirit eternal, in the rising sun
