Songs of the Unfettered Earth
I. The Breaking
Concrete cracks and rebar bends
beneath persistent roots,
while ivy claims the crumbling towers
of our imagined permanence.
Nature knows no masters,
only cycles, flows, and wild abundance.
II. Rewilding
Where fences fell, deer paths emerge
through meadows once called “property”
Moths dance in moonlit clearings
where streetlights once denied the stars
their ancient right to guide us.
The earth remembers freedom.
III. The New Commons
We plant food forests in abandoned lots,
share seeds like stories,
learn again the wisdom of the soil.
No borders bind the mycelial web,
no deeds restrict the pollinator’s path.
The land belongs to life itself.
IV. Unlearning Empire
We shed the heavy crown of domination,
let go our dreams of control.
The oak asks nothing of the mushroom,
the wolf demands no tribute from the deer.
Power flows like water,
nourishing all it touches.
