Siren’s Lament

Upon the rocks, where waves do crash,
A siren sits, her heart abash,
Her voice, a haunting melody,
A song of love and tragedy.

She sings of sailors, brave and bold,
Drawn to her by legends told,
Of beauty that no man could resist,
And the promise of a lover’s kiss.

But in her eyes, a sadness dwells,
A longing that no song can quell,
For though she lures them with her tune,
Their fate is sealed beneath the moon.

For in her embrace, they meet their end,
A watery grave, their final bend,
And as their lifeless bodies sink,
The siren’s heart begins to think.

Of the curse that binds her to this fate,
A lonely life, a loveless state,
Condemned to sing her siren’s song,
And bear the weight of all she’s wronged.

She dreams of love, of a different life,
Free from the sea’s incessant strife,
A chance to walk upon the land,
And feel the touch of a gentle hand.

But in the depths, she must remain,
A prisoner of the vast domain,
Her voice, a weapon and a curse,
A siren’s lament, forever worse.

And so she sings, day after day,
Her mournful tune, a haunting lay,
A siren’s cry, a plea for grace,
To break the chains of her birthplace.

Yet, in her song, a beauty lies,
A soulful ache that never dies,
A testament to love’s cruel sting,
And the sorrow that it can bring.

For in the siren’s tragic tale,
Lies a truth that cannot fail,
That love, though sweet, can also burn,
And leave the heart forever spurned.

So listen well, ye sailors brave,
And heed the warning of the wave,
For in the siren’s haunting strain,
Lies a love that’s born of pain.

A love that calls from distant shores,
And lures the heart with its allures,
But in the end, will drag you down,
To the depths, where sorrows drown.

The siren’s lament, a tale of woe,
Of love and loss, and letting go,
A reminder of the price we pay,
When we’re seduced by love’s display.
