Sacred Fire Dance
In the heart of the forest, where the spirits reside,
And the ancient ones whisper, secrets they confide,
A gathering takes place, on this starlit eve,
Where the sacred fire dance, they do conceive.
The bonfire is lit, with a ritual flame,
Invoking the powers, that have no name,
The drums begin to beat, in a primal rhyme,
As the dancers take their place, in the circle sublime.
Their bodies painted, with symbols of old,
Of the elements and the gods, their stories told,
They move to the rhythm, of the drumbeat’s call,
Their feet stomping the earth, as they give their all.
The flames leap higher, as the dance intensifies,
A portal to the otherworld, before their eyes,
The spirits of the land, they join in the fray,
As the dancers trance, in the ecstatic sway.
The fire’s glow, it illuminates the night,
Casting shadows that dance, in the moon’s pale light,
The energy builds, as the chants grow loud,
A sacred communion, between the earth and the crowd.
In this dance, they honor the cycles of life,
The turning of the seasons, the end of strife,
They celebrate the harvest, and the seeds that will grow,
And the blessings of the gods, that they bestow.
The movements tell stories, of the ancient ways,
Of the mysteries and the magic, from the bygone days,
They connect with the land, and the spirits that dwell,
In the sacred fire dance, where all is well.
As the night wears on, and the flames die down,
The dancers rest, on the dew-covered ground,
Their hearts are full, with the magic they’ve shared,
In the sacred fire dance, where nothing is spared.
For in this ritual, they find their true selves,
Connected to the earth, and all that it delves,
They honor the old ways, and the wisdom they bring,
And the sacred fire dance, forever will sing.
So let us remember, the power of the flame,
And the magic of the dance, that has no name,
For in the sacred fire, we find our release,
And connect with the divine, in the circles of peace.
May the sacred fire dance, forever burn bright,
Illuminating the darkness, on this pagan night,
And may we always honor, the ancient ways,
In the sacred fire dance, for all of our days.
