Moonlight Whispers Lies
In the stillness of the night,
When the world is fast asleep,
Moonlight whispers lies so sweet,
secrets it will keep.
Casting shadows on the wall,
Playing tricks upon the mind,
Distorting truth and reality,
leaving reason far behind.
But in the darkness of the sky,
Stars giggle with delight,
Amused by moonlight’s wicked games,
And the follies of the night.
They twinkle and they shine,
Watching from their lofty perch,
As mortals stumble blindly on,
For meaning in their search.
Little do they realize,
That the cosmos has a plan,
A joke that’s played on everyone,
Since the dawn of man.
For in the grand scheme of it all,
What we perceive as real,
Is but a fleeting illusion,
That the universe reveals.
So let the moonlight whisper lies,
And stars laugh in the dark,
For in the cosmic joke of life,
We all play our part.
