Lament of the Forgotten
In the shadows of memory, I reside,
A faded photograph, a face once recognized.
The echoes of laughter, now distant and cold,
As I wander through life, a story untold.
I was once a part of something greater,
A piece of a puzzle, a cherished creator.
But time has a way of eroding the past,
Leaving me lost, in a world so vast.
The friends I once knew, have all moved on,
Their lives filled with purpose, while I’m left to mourn.
The love I once felt, now a fleeting dream,
As I float through existence, like a ghost unseen.
The accomplishments I made, now covered in dust,
My legacy fading, like a crumbling bust.
The impact I hoped to leave, now a whisper in the wind,
As I fade from memory, a story untinned.
I walk through the streets, a stranger in my own life,
Watching the world move on, cutting like a knife.
The faces I pass, show no recognition,
As I become a footnote, in life’s cruel edition.
The dreams I once held, now shattered and gone,
As I wander alone, from dusk until dawn.
The purpose I sought, now lost in the haze,
As I live out my life, in a forgotten daze.
