Jingle Bells, or Just the Bells

Random chimes in winter nights,
No pattern to be found,
Some bells ring sharp, some bells ring flat,
Chaos all around.

Off-key notes through empty streets,
Each toll a wild surprise,
Never knowing when they’ll strike,
Like life before our eyes.

(Chorus)
Just the bells, just the bells,
Ringing as they please,
Some too early, some too late,
Some lost on the breeze.
Just the bells, just the bells,
Time’s uncertain song,
Never knowing which bell next,
Or if they’ll ring for long.

Morning bells at midnight chime,
Evening bells at dawn,
Some ring once and never twice,
Some ring on and on.

Listen close, you might just hear
The wisdom in their sound:
Life’s a dance of chance and change,
Just spinning round and round.

(Chorus)
Just the bells, just the bells,
Discord in the air,
Some too quiet, some too loud,
Ringing without care.
Just the bells, just the bells,
Nature’s random brass,
Teaching us that nothing’s fixed,
As moments come to pass.

Final verse rings incomplete —
Or was that just the start?
In this mess of tangled chimes,
We can’t tell them apart.

Like our days that blur together,
No clear end or beginning,
Just the sound of time itself,
Chaotically spinning.

(Final Chorus)
Just the bells, just the bells,
Echoing our fate,
Some too soon, some too late,
None of them quite straight.
Just the bells, just the bells,
Life’s discordant ways,
Teaching us to find our peace
In these uncertain days.
