Ephemeral Gems at Dawn

--

In the hush of early morn,
When night’s veil is gently torn,
Diamonds sparkle on every leaf,
A treasure trove, but oh so brief.

Dewdrops cling to blades of grass,
Fragile spheres of liquid glass,
Reflecting worlds in miniature,
A fleeting beauty, crystal pure.

Each bead a prism, catching light,
Scattering rainbows, oh so bright,
A fragile balance, soon to fall,
As sun climbs high o’er nature’s hall.

Like life itself, these drops so small,
Remind us how we rise and fall,
A moment’s glory, then we’re gone,
Our essence merged with earth and dawn.

So pause and marvel at this sight,
These jewels that grace the morning light,
For in their dance, so quick to leave,
We glimpse the art of how to live.

To shine our brightest while we may,
To reflect beauty day by day,
And when our time comes to depart,
To leave dewdrops upon the heart.
