Dancing with Shadows

In the fading light of dusk’s embrace,
When the sun dips low and day is done,
I find myself in a strange, dark place,
Where shadows dance and secrets run.

The shadows, they beckon me to join,
Their silhouettes, a haunting sight.
They sway and move, a dance divine,
Inviting me to share the night.

I step into their midst, unsure,
My heart, a flutter in my chest.
The shadows, they begin to stir,
And I am caught within their quest.

We dance, a waltz of dark and light,
Our movements, fluid, swift, and free.
The shadows, they hold me tight,
A partner in this mystery.

The dance, it takes me far away,
To places I have never been.
Where secrets lurk and dreams hold sway,
And nothing is quite what it seems.

The shadows, they whisper in my ear,
Of tales untold and truths concealed.
They spin me round, without fear,
And in their arms, I am revealed.

I lose myself within the dance,
The shadows, now my closest friends.
We move as one, in perfect stance,
A bond that time cannot transcend.

But as the night begins to fade,
And dawn’s first light creeps o’er the land,
The shadows, they begin to trade,
Their form for something less grand.

I watch them as they slip away,
Back to the realm from whence they came.
But in my heart, they’ll always stay,
A part of me, a treasured name.

For in the dance, I found a piece,
Of who I am, of what I’ll be.
The shadows, they granted me release,
And set my inner spirit free.

So when the night comes ‘round once more,
And shadows gather, hand in hand,
I’ll join them on the dance floor,
And let them lead me through the land.

For in the dance, I am alive,
The shadows, now my trusted guide.
Together, we’ll forever strive,
To keep the magic, deep inside.

And though the world may never know,
The secrets that we shadows keep,
I’ll hold them close, and never show,
The dance that makes my spirit leap.

For in the shadows, I am home,
A dancer in the dark sublime.
And in their arms, I’ll never roam,
Forever lost in dance and time.
