Cosmic Recess
Above the world, beyond the blue,
A playground hangs in cosmic view,
Where stars swing high on nebula trees,
And planets spin in galactic breeze.
Children leap from cloud to cloud,
Their laughter ringing clear and loud,
They hopscotch on the Big Dipper’s span,
And play tag with the God of Pan.
The Milky Way, a spiral slide,
Where giggles and stardust collide,
As little ones zoom down its length,
Propelled by pure celestial strength.
Comets zoom like faithful hounds,
Chasing children on their rounds,
Their tails of light leave glowing trails,
As cosmic kids grab onto their tails.
On Saturn’s rings, they hula-hoop,
While others with the moon play coop,
Some jump rope with Aurora’s glow,
Or build sand castles on Mars’ red snow.
The sun, a giant bouncy ball,
Brings warmth and light to one and all,
As young ones bounce it to and fro,
Careful not to drop it down below.
Meteors become monkey bars,
For stellar acrobats from Mars,
While black holes serve as whirlpools wild,
For the most adventurous space child.
